New to 2FA? If you're not sure what two-factor authentication is or why it matters, read this article first.
Before you begin
- Confirm your email address. 2FA cannot be activated without a confirmed email.
If you haven't confirmed yours yet, follow the instructions here.
- Keep Plarium Play up to date. Older versions of Plarium Play do not support 2FA. Any device running an outdated version will need to be updated before you can log in once 2FA is active.
- Multiple accounts? If you use more than one Plarium Play account, you will need to enable 2FA for each account separately.
Setup steps
1. Open Plarium Play and go to your Profile.
2. Open the Settings tab.
3. Select "Account and Security" from the left-hand menu.
4. Find the "Enable two-factor authentication" slider and turn it on.
5. Enter your current password when prompted.
6. A window will appear asking you to choose your preferred authentication method. Pick one of the options below.
Choosing your authentication method
Option A: Google Authenticator
1. Select "Google Authenticator" and click "Next".
2. Open the Google Authenticator app on your mobile device and scan the QR code shown on screen.
"Can't scan the QR code?" Select the manual entry option to display a setup key, then type it into the Google Authenticator app instead.
3. Enter the 6-digit code generated by the app and click "Continue".
4. Follow the steps in "Completing the setup" below.

Option B: Email
1. Select "Email address" and click "Next".
2. Check your inbox — or your spam folder if needed — for a verification code from Plarium.
3. Enter the code in the field provided and click "Continue".
4. Follow the steps in "Completing the setup" below.
Completing the setup
These final steps apply to both authentication methods:
1. On the next screen, you will see your "backup codes". Save them, then click "Complete".
2. Click "Log Out". When you log back in, 2FA will be active on your account.
About backup codes — important.
- Backup codes are one-time emergency codes that let you access your account if you ever lose - access to your email or authenticator app. Treat them like a spare key:
- Store them somewhere safe and offline.
- Print them out rather than saving a screenshot or a file on your device.
- Each code can only be used once.
- If you lose both your backup codes and your authentication method at the same time - recovering your account will require contacting Support.
Managing your 2FA settings
Disabling 2FA:
Go to Profile → Settings → Account and Security and turn off the "Enable two-factor authentication" slider. You will be asked to confirm your password.
Switching between email and Google Authenticator:
Disable 2FA first using the steps above, then re-enable it and select the other method during setup.
Lost your backup codes?
You can generate a new set by disabling and re-enabling 2FA. If you've also lost access to your authentication method, contact our Support Team.
What's next?
Now that 2FA is active, your login process will include one extra step each time you sign in.
